Silver Ant's latest production will be a feature-length animated movie entitled "Seafood". This massive undertaking, will require a workforce of hundreds of committed, passionate and talented individuals. You could be one of them.

ANIMATION SUPERVISOR

You will be responsible for:

Managing the animation team effectively and efficiently in order to complete the production on time
Overseeing your team's work, providing clear direction and delivering constructive feedback on the work in progress
Directing and coordinating animation
Instructing animators on specific camera direction, action and motion timing
Providing feedback on the final cut of the film, thereby ensuring that the story and action are furthered and enhanced by the editing process
 

Requirements:

In-depth understanding of animation timing and posing
Expertise in film storytelling principles and techniques
Strong communication and leadership skills to guide team through process, plans and concept
Superior management and planning skills
At least 2 years of CG production experience

LAYOUT SUPERVISOR

You will be responsible for:

Cinematography, establishing character blocking and poses, composition, camera positioning and camera movement
Using storyboards to lead your team to recreate and enhance the story through cinematic layout of the shots
Continuity and flow within and between shots
Supervising and training your team of layout artists in the use of technology, best practices, procedures and workflow
 

Requirements:

Superior skills in layout (planning and asset management), animation and cinematography
Expert knowledge of After Effects, Maya and Photoshop
Superior planning and management skills
At least 2 years of CG production experience

LIGHTING SUPERVISOR

You will be responsible for:

Sharing your expertise with a team of lighting artists in order to advance their knowledge of technology, best practices, procedures and workflows
Overseeing the use of lighting and compositing tools in support of the visual style, mood and narrative of the film
Proactively seeking out new technologies, techniques and processes that will benefit the production
 

Requirements:

Demonstrated superior skills in composition, light and colour
Expert knowledge of After Effects, Maya and Mental Ray
Superior planning and management skills
At least 2 years of CG production experience

MODELING SUPERVISOR

You will be responsible for:

Creating 3D backgrounds, props or non-organic models
Overseeing a team of sets and props modelers and riggers
Assigning tasks and providing feedback and encouragement to your team on art direction, process, technique and productivity
Generating and compiling training materials for asset creation procedures and conduct training if necessary.
 

Requirements:

Expert knowledge of Maya and Mental Ray
Excellent understanding of modelling, texture, rigging and weighting
Superior planning and management skills
At least 2 years of CG production experience

PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

You will be responsible for:

Using both text and graphics to create a project schedule that breaks down tasks in order of priority
 Working with department supervisors to define, set up and manage this schedule
Ensuring that deadlines are met
Acting as liaison between departments
Communicating with the supervisors and other coordinators to define priorities and to keep to or adjust the schedule as necessary
Meeting regularly with department supervisors to obtain updates and to troubleshoot problems (such as manpower issues, deadline difficulties, etc.) as they arise
Updating Production on the status of deliverables
Assisting wherever necessary to ensure that teams meet their targets.
 

Requirements:

Excellent organisation, communication and coordination skills
Demonstrated ability to multitask
At least 1 year of CG production experience

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

You will be responsible for:

The entire lighting and shading process from building the shader trees to rendering final passes
Using your technical skills, knowledge and experience to troubleshoot CG animation production pipeline issues
 

Requirements:

Expert ability in developing MEL scripts and tools
Expert knowledge of Maya and Mental Ray
Experience with shell scripting, coding, shader writing, modelling, texture, rigging, lighting, rendering, compositing, particles and fluids a major plus
At least 3 years of CG production experience

You will be responsible for:

VFX breakdowns, scheduling, pipeline and workflow management
Overseeing effects artists
Assigning tasks and providing constructive feedback on art direction, process, technique and productivity

Providing guidance to solve technical problems as and when they arise
 

Requirements:

Strong working knowledge of Maya, Mental Ray and After Effects
Superior planning and management skills

You will be responsible for:

Staging every shot and plotting the action that takes place within each scene
 Working closely with the Director and Layout Supervisor to establish character blocking, timing, composition and cinematography
 

Requirements:

Knowledge of Maya, Photoshop and After Effects
Experience in layout, animation, composition and camera movements
Understanding of how the right shot can help further tension, excitement and emotion
Ability to take instruction and accept constructive criticism
Eager to learn and to grow professionally

You will be responsible for:

 Working closely with the Art Director and Modeling Supervisor to turn 2D concept art into 3D models
Designing and creating 3D sets, props, characters and non-organic models
 

Requirements:

The ability to apply your imagination 3-dimensionally
Knowledge of Maya and Photoshop
Understanding of UV texture skills
Knowledge of character rigging is a plus

 Working closely with the Director and Animation Supervisor to breathe life into your 3D characters through dramatic and subtle motion, poses and facial expressions

Familiarity with traditional animation principles
Acting ability (even you have only ever done it in private), superior observation skills and sensitivity to emotion a major advantage
